Photo Recap: The Deli Philly’s 3rd Anniversary Bash!!!

This past Friday was The Deli Philly’s 3rd Anniversary Bash at Kung Fu Necktie with Dangerous Ponies, Orbit to Leslie, The Homophones, Power Animal, and Botany. We promised you a rad time, and it was delivered! Though it was a shame that the Phillies couldn’t hold up their end of the bargain, the celebration went on fueled by a little Jameson and cake. Thank you all who participated! We hope that you had as much fun as we did. The lights were low keeping the conspirators in the shadows, but you can check out some of our pics from the evening HERE.

EXITMUSIC headlines Deli Dream Pop Stage at CMJ on Tuesday 10.18 at The Delancey

Aleksa Palladino and Devon Church make dreamy rock music under the heading EXITMUSIC. The band’s impressive live shows have been garnering much-deserved attention for the Brooklynbased married couple; on stage, Aleksa commands attention as the band’s lead vocalist. She also alternates between playing guitar and keyboards. Devon stands tall as the primary guitarist, and shifts effortlessly between providing power chords, quick riffs or melody lines and even employs a violin bow on the strings at one point. The band will be headlining the Deli's CMJ Dream Pop Stage at The Delancey on Tuesday 10.18, with Mahogany, ohnomoon and Spanish Prisoners - here's the event's Facebook page, and here the full list of Deli CMJ 2011 shows.

Cuddle Magic Casting Spells at JB’s Oct. 11

Cuddle Magic is on tour, and will be making a pit stop tonight at Johnny Brenda’s. The chamber folk-pop outfit will be filling the stage with a multitude of instruments like a vibraphone, acoustic bass, trumpet, bass clarinet, and many others to blend with their gently flowing vocals creating an elegant sound even more adorable than their band name. They’ll most likely be sharing tunes that will be making an appearance on their upcoming third album Info Nympho that is scheduled for release in early 2012. Joining them this evening will be former New Yorkers now local natives The Powder Kegs and Is And Of The, the project of 20 year old experimental musician Drew Bandos. Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N. From the NYC Open Blog: Low Fat Getting High send pizzas to "Occupy Wall Street" peeps

In an effort to help the folks occupying Wall Street, NYC punk group Low Fat Getting High put together a fund raiser single entitled "P.O.W.S. (Prisoners of Wall Street" in support of the cause, available for download on for $5. All proceeds will go towards buying food for the protestors in Zuccotti Park. Here's what the band has to say about this: "A few of us dropping five bucks can at least send a couple pizzas their way. Let’s help some folks out who need a hand. A slice of pizza between imprisonment and pepper spray can really raise some spirits. Let’s go!" - (as posted in The Deli's Open Blog - post your band's entries, videos, and Mp3s here).
